3 Tips to use office design for brand consistency
We all want to work in inspiring work spaces. It increases staff morale and culture of the business. Offices are the HQ of your brand, so they need to be on message, as do the staff.
Our top tips for office design for brand consistency
- What are you brand values?
A brand is as unique as you and I.
People want to know the story behind the public image.
What is your businesses personality?
Before any design work on office space can start, you need to define your brand values. What does your brand stand for, what is its DNA?
Have you got a logo? Brand colours? Slogans?
All these things need to be worked into office design. That way, the brand maintains consistency. Consistency is what will build trust with consumers.
- Clearly define areas
Some areas of the office will not be seen by customers. It is important to design areas where customers will see differently to the staff areas.
Try to think about what messages you want to convey to staff. These are likely to be different to the brand messages you want to portray to customers.
- Colour schemes
Think about colours in the office and try to work branded colours into the scheme.
Again, think about what the area is used for, and what your business wants to encourage.
In reception areas and customer facing areas, you want strong branding. Use corporate colours. Showcase to clients what you can do (or products you offer) and what problems you solve. Use testimonials.
For staff areas, if you want to encourage creativity avoid plain white walls. If you are in a high-pressure environment, avoid intense colours.
Think outside of the box
Talk to staff and get them involved.
Talk to professionals. Interior designers have a wealth of expertise to help you.
As sign writers, we encourage clients to think about using images, testimonials and inspirational quotes on their walls.
One thing that may be overlooked, is the materials that images, logos and wording are printed on.
Will the work space always look the same?
Will you always be in that building/office?
Will you redecorate?
Consider using removable, repositionable and reusable materials to give you freedom to redesign and move décor with you.
